Measure D - City of San Rafael  Special Library Services Parcel Tax

“To provide a critical, consistent, locally-controlled funding source, augmenting current general fund allocations for the San Rafael Public Library to maintain library hours, equipment, materials, and services for children, teens, and adults, shall the City of San Rafael be authorized to levy an annual $59 parcel tax (slightly higher for multiple-residential unit parcels) for a period of nine (9) years with annual CPI adjustment, oversight by an independent citizens committee and exemptions for senior citizens?”

San Rafael voters approved Measure D.

At the Council meeting of July 18, 2016, the City Council adopted a resolution declaring canvass of returns and results of the consolidated special municipal election held on June 7, 2016. The City of San Rafael voters approved the Measure D with the required two-thirds majority vote, and adopted a new Ordinance amending Chapter 3.36 of the San Rafael Municipal Code entitled “Special Library Services Parcel Tax.”
