Thinking about running for office? Great! Just fill out this application to get started. Be sure the personal information you provide matches your current voter registration with the Elections Department. While your application becomes part of the public record, it won’t be posted on our website.

  • Interested in running for City Council or Board of Education Trustee, but you aren't sure what district you live in? Enter your address in the maps below to confirm your correct Council District or Trustee Area by selecting the magnifying glass and entering your address.
  • The City Clerk's Office requires an email address and phone number in order to contact you. At least one of these is required to be made available to the media/public. Both are made available if you do not select at least one.
  • By submitting this application, the candidate is applying to obtain the necessary nomination documents for the office stated on this application. The candidate understands this application is the beginning of the process, and subsequent documents must be filed within the time frame required by the Elections Code. Once this application is submitted, the City Clerk's office will contact you to coordinate the safest way for you to receive your Nomination Paper and candidate documents.
