Project Description

The Proposed Project is a 101-unit Multifamily Apartment Building located in the downtown zone of San Rafael. MPC is in contract with the owner of the property, RCP-Mission Properties, LLC and has permission from the owner to submit this Project Application.

The Proposed Project would demolish the existing 10,335 SF Commercial Apartment Building and build a new Multifamily Apartment Building. This proposed project contemplates 89 Market Rate units, 9 Very Low Income BMR units and 3 Moderate Income BMR Units with 101 parking spaces. The base project holds 59 units and with the State Density Bonus Laws (SDBL) there are 42 Density Bonus Units. The proposed building is an 8 story, 85 foot tall, 119,148 Square Foot Residential Apartment Building.

A neighboring property has an easement on the parcel for 10 parking spaces. The design of the Proposed Building has incorporated these 10 parking spaces in to approximately the same area as they currently exist. MPC is in negotiations with that Easement Holder to ensure all considerations are accounted for in the design of the Proposed Project.
