The Sidewalk Repair Program resumed work in East San Rafael in early June. Since then, the City’s contractor, Van Midde and Son Concrete have completed sidewalks at another 30 locations on San Marino and Riviera Dr with an additional 70 properties scheduled in the neighborhood. Work will continue on Riviera Dr and start heading back towards downtown, completing the Dominican and Lincoln Hill neighborhoods on the way before heading up to Terra Linda. Since the beginning of 2019, the City has replaced over 1.2 miles of new sidewalk at over 170 locations. That’s enough new sidewalk to stretch from City Hall to San Rafael High School! Additionally, .60 miles of new curb and gutter have been replaced in the City.
For participants that signed up for last year’s program, we are working to conduct inspections a few weeks prior to our contractor starting in your neighborhood. The City or contractor will reach out to you prior to the inspection and no further action is required.
