WUI Head MM 2018


    Over 8,600 parcels and lots in San Rafael are located in the High Fire Hazard - Wildland Urban Interface (WUI). We have recently added the Marinwood communities to our list.
  • The San Rafael Fire Department offers all residents located within the WUI a "Residential Fire Hazard" assessment. The assessment will help residents and firefighters identify risks and challenges to their homes and landscaping from wildfires. The service is provided at no cost.
  • The "Residential Fire Hazard" assessment includes:
  • -Exterior inspection of your home and surrounding vegetation.-Assessment of fire resistant building construction.-Building footprint and location (i.e. slope and aspect).-Available water supply.-San Rafael Homeowner's WUI guide.San Rafael READY, SET.....GO - 'Your Personal Wildfire Action Plan'.-Recommendations to lessen wildfire hazards on the property.
