The Francisco Blvd. E. Mid-Block Project is nearing completion.
The project includes a new mid-block pedestrian crossing on Grand Avenue, located between Second Street and Francisco Boulevard East.
The new HAWK (High-Intensity Activated Crosswalk), also known as a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB), is expected to be activated and fully operational by the end of this calendar year, pending system turn-on support and final inspection.
Due to seasonal weather, the striping installed this year will be temporary paint. In Spring 2026, when weather conditions improve, slurry sealing and permanent thermoplastic striping will be installed. Additional information regarding lane closures for this work will be shared in Spring 2026.
