Unwanted Junk

Whatever you do, DO NOT put your unwanted junk on the street or sidewalk. It is ILLEGAL to dump your unwanted junk, furniture, mattresses, or any garbage on streets, sidewalks, in parks, or anywhere else.

What are my options?

1. Try Selling or Donating Online!

Online marketplaces like Craigslist, Nextdoor, Freecycle, and Facebook Marketplace are gaining traction as more and more people become aware of their benefits.

TipIf you’ve got something that you want to get rid of quickly, try posting it for free on one of these online marketplaces, you might be surprised at how quickly people respond!

2. Try Donating Locally!

One person's junk is another person's treasure. Consider donating your unwanted items and contact one of the following places that may let you drop it off for donation:

Salvation Army: 350 4th St, San Rafael (415) 454-7201
Goodwill:  809 Lincoln Ave, San Rafael (415) 456-5273
Hospice Hodgepodge: 910 Lincoln Ave, San Rafael (415) 459-4686
