The San Rafael Library & Recreation Department hosted four successful free outdoor movie nights this fall! The season kicked off in mid-September with a showing of Paddington in Peru at Peacock Gap Park, followed by The Wild Robot at Gerstle Park and Mufasa (in Spanish) at Pickleweed Park. The series wrapped up on Friday, October 24, with another showing of Paddington at Terra Linda Park.
Each movie night brought together residents of all ages to enjoy a fun evening under the stars with family, friends, and neighbors. Attendance ranged from 175 to 300 people per event.
A huge thank-you goes out to the many City departments who joined the fun by setting up information tables, answering community questions, and offering free treats such as popcorn, cotton candy, sparkling water, and other goodies to make the evenings even more enjoyable.
Participating departments included the City Manager’s Office, San Rafael Library, Department of Public Works, San Rafael Fire Department, and San Rafael Police Department. Special thanks to the Parks Division for ensuring restrooms and park areas were ready to go before each event.
Thank you to everyone who came out to join us this season! We’re grateful to be able to host events that bring our community together and create lasting memories for families and neighbors alike. We can’t wait to see you next year for more movie nights in 2026. Stay tuned for more great community events coming soon!
