Following an 18-month long process of planning and construction, the Multi-Use Pathway from Andersen to Rice Drive is complete and open for public use! This is a vital link for bicyclists and pedestrians as it connects downtown San Rafael to the Larkspur Ferry Terminal. It is Phase I of the SMART Larkspur Extension project and will become part of the San Francisco Bay Area Trail system. The Grand Opening took place on Tuesday, July 16th with a great turn-out of representatives from local organizations, funding agencies, and Mayor Gary Phillips. Staff have received many compliments from excited residents, pedestrians, and bicyclists utilizing the new pathway!
