Speaking of art, we recently found out that our very own San Rafael was named one of the most unique art towns in the U.S.! In an article published by The Storage Space, the Downtown San Rafael Arts District is specifically called out for being a place that advocates for bringing art to the people through spaces like Art Works Downtown, the Marin Society of ArtistsYouth in Arts, and the California Film Institute, among other places. The Downtown San Rafael Arts District, located along 4th Street, provides a unique place to create and appreciate arts and culture–a place for people to come together, make connections, and get involved in the community. If you haven’t, I encourage you to come and check out the 2nd Friday Art Walk, which takes place on the second Friday of each month beginning at 5 p.m. (the next Art Walk is on August 8!).

Fun fact: San Rafael was designated as one of 14 California Cultural Districts, a new statewide program that highlights thriving cultural diversity and unique artistic identities within local communities across California.
