The City has set aside $150,000 for the 50-50 sidewalk repair cost share, $100,000 for curb and gutter work, and $100,000 for tree removal and replacement as a part of the Sidewalk Repair Program. Based on current costs, it is estimated that this amount will fund sidewalk repairs for 150 properties a year. Unfortunately, more funds cannot be put towards the Sidewalk Repair Program without diverting funds from other important public infrastructure projects such as our annual street resurfacing program. With $350,000 total in funding, the Sidewalk Repair Program represents nearly 10% of all gas-tax funded roadway projects in the City in 2018. The funding amount for this program was determined after numerous public meetings and considerable input from City Council.
