Police and Fire response remains fully operational, 24/7. The Departments are making minor modifications to services to ensure the safety of our public and our personnel. These changes include cancelling events per CDC guidelines, taking police reports online and by telephone, wearing personal protective equipment (including face masks) as needed, practicing social distancing to the extent possible, and asking screening questions about exposure to COVID-19, positive tests, and/or symptoms.
In addition to our regular public safety services, the City has proclaimed a local emergency and activated our Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The EOC allows us to coordinate logistics, operations, and other planning activities as we work to respond to the COVID-19 crisis. To minimize staff exposure and a potential outbreak within a physical EOC, we are operating a virtual EOC, with staff working remotely from home or at offices that allow for social distancing.
