The San Rafael Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider a proposed new residential development at 1030 Third Street (900 A Street Project), located at the northeast corner of A Street and Third Street.

Project Overview
The new project consists of the construction of a 131-unit, 8-story multi-family residential building with a 4,000 square foot, ground level commercial space, and ground level parking garage with access from A Street. The project also includes tenant amenities including a podium courtyard on the 2nd floor, a rooftop deck, and private patios. The existing, approximately 4,400 square foot, vacant commercial building and surface parking lot located at 1030 3rd Street would be demolished, and the site would be readdressed from 1030 3rd Street to 900 A Street to reflect the location of the proposed pedestrian and vehicle entrances. The project site is within the Downtown Precise Plan Area and has frontage on 3rd Street and A Street.
The project is requesting a density bonus and proposes to provide 10%, or 11 units of the base residential density as low-income units. Based on the percentage and affordability level of inclusionary units, the project is eligible for up to a 20% density bonus.
