On October 28, the City of San Rafael and County of Marin co-hosted a virtual community meeting about the 350 Merrydale Road Interim Shelter Project, providing an opportunity for residents to ask questions and provide their feedback.
The presentation included an overview of the planning details for the 65 temporary individual cabins and on-site support services designed to provide shelter residents with a stable, private space. In the long term, this site will become a deed-restricted affordable housing development.
This meeting’s topics covered how:
– We will ensure neighborhood safety, security, and cleanliness.
– The site will be managed, staffed, and secured.
– This effort builds on the success of the downtown Sanctioned Camping Area.
