As of Spring 2019, San Rafael’s new Fire Station 52 is open for service!  The new station, which replaces the original station built in 1957, fulfills a promise made to the community and to our firefighters.  Thank you to the San Rafael community (voters and taxpayers) who passed Measure E in November of 2013 to fund this effort.  Special thanks to everyone who provided input and support and to our Facilities Committee; the Fire Commission; the Mayor and City Council; our City Manager and Assistant City Manager; our Command Staff and City Staff; our firefighters; Mary McGrath Architects, who helped us form a vision for the station; Kitchell, who facilitated the project with the Department of Public Works; and, finally, Alten Construction and their team, who pulled it all together.
