“I’ve Received A Letter” FAQ

I have received a letter from the City stating my sidewalk panels were flagged as having an uneven displacement, what does this mean?

In the fall of 2016 the City contracted with a company to conduct an assessment assisting with the evaluation of City of San Rafael’s sidewalks. A sample of 40 miles of the City’s sidewalks were inspected, any sidewalk panel in the sample area with an uneven displacement greater than ¼ inched were flagged.  Property owners that have received this letter are within that 40 mile sample area.

The intent of this letter was to bring awareness to property owners of the City’s Sidewalk Repair program, and encourage property owners affected by displaced sidewalk panels to apply.
