No street opening work between Hetherton St to G St and Mission Ave to 2nd St
CESSATION OF UTILITY STREET OPENINGS – HOLIDAY MORATORIUM
The Holiday Season is once again upon us with its accompanying traffic congestion and parking problems. In order not to further inconvenience our shoppers during this period, we once again have the policy that no more street opening permits will be issued for utility work within certain areas of the City between November 25, 2025 and January 1, 2026.
Any open permits within the area described below must be completed by November 25, 2025 or not begin until after January 1, 2026.
The areas in which utilities shall be prohibited from working in the street, except for emergency work only, are all those streets in commercially zoned sections of the City, with particular emphasis to the downtown shopping area and the Northgate shopping areas. If a utility is currently working or proposing to work in this area under an approved permit, they must call the Public Works office to confirm and discuss the status of the work if not already done so.
Permits for utility work in residential sections of the City will be processed as usual, and no work shall commence without valid permit approval from the Department of Public Works.
