Seeds of Hope Service Fair and Luncheon

The San Rafael Community Center will once again be hosting the Seeds of Hope Service Fair and Luncheon on Monday, August 25, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  The address is 618 B Street San Rafael.

This event, held every quarter, brings together over 20 service providers to offer a wide array of support services, food, and a sense of community.

The Seeds of Hope Luncheon is dedicated to connecting individuals, local businesses, and organizations committed to positively impacting the lives of those experiencing homelessness in San Rafael. The event features a free catered lunch and allows community members to access essential services.

Here is the list of organizations/services we are expecting this time:

    • Acupuncture: Chair acupuncture
    • Alcoholics Anonymous: In A.A., we’re grateful because we’ve been given a new chance at life—freedom from the obsession and destruction of alcohol. That gratitude runs deep because many of us know, firsthand, what it was like to be hopeless, isolated, and trapped in active alcoholism. Please join us in fellowship
    • Bay Area Community Resources: Offering cessation materials, such as QuitKits, and tobacco prevention materials from KickItCa.
    • The Bethany Project: We offer mobile showers, food, and other support on Thursdays in Novato.
    • Buckelew Programs/Helen Vine Recovery Center
    • Canal Alliance: Canal Alliance has resources available regarding Know Your Rights, Family Preparedness and other topics related to immigration.     • Center for Domestic Peace: Offering information about our services and providing  resources for those impacted by Domestic violence.
    • Center for Employment Opportunities: Center for Employment Opportunities provides immediate paid employment and job readiness support to justice-impacted individuals. We help participants strengthen workplace skills, access career coaching, and connect with employers for long-term, sustainable job opportunities.
    • Center Point Inc.: We invite you to stop by and learn more about our comprehensive behavioral health services, including: Residential Programs for men and women with children, Outpatient Treatment Services, Recovery Residence Support, Day Services Center for individuals involved in the criminal justice system, Information about our Stimulant Incentive Program (Contingency Management), Substance Use Disorder Assessments and treatment referrals
    • City of San Rafael Library: Free books and library card/services information
    • Clean Slate: Offering: Clean Slate applications, DMV-related assistance (DUI, driver’s license verification, status and eligibility), Legal support – our attorneys, including an immigration attorney, will be available to answer questions and provide assistance with current or past legal matters.
    • Clipper Start: A FREE discount program that provides 50% off single-ride bus, BART, rail and ferry transit fares to eligible Bay Area residents ages 19-64. We will also have information on applying for a Senior, Youth and Disabled (RTC) discounted Clipper Card.
    • Community Action Marin
    • Downtown Streets Team: Work experience, employment services & community service hours, individualized case management & recourse referrals, Coordinated Entry assessments & basic needs outreach supports (i.e. hygiene, clothing, etc).
    • Enterprise Resource Center/Mental Health Advocates of Marin- ERC Mental Health Drop-In Center is highlighting their comprehensive support offerings, including free mental health support groups, wellness resources, and opportunities to connect with trained peer support specialists in a welcoming, stigma-free environment.
    • Hairdresser/Barbers including: Hollz from The Parlor Room Barbershop in San Rafael (haircuts and beard trims), Danika O’Leary, and Victoria Alvarado
    • Legal Aid of Marin: Free legal assistance to low-income residents, seniors, and people with disabilities in Marin County, including: Marin Community Court (unpaid traffic violations, lifestyle tickets & Fastrak); Housing Department (unlawful detainer complaints & notices); Employment Law Department (wage claims & discrimination claims)
    • Libraries: City of San Rafael Library and Marin County Free Library will have books to give away and information about library services
    • Lived Experience Advisory Board (LEAB): Clothing giveaway, homelessness advocacy and policy input

    • Marin Community Clinics: Marin Community Clinics staff can help you coordinate care with your dental, medical, and behavioral health team. We can assist you in rescheduling and scheduling appointments as well as outreaching to your care team.

    • Marin HHS Homelessness and Coordinated Care – Homelessness assessments for possible housing placement
    • Marin HHS SS Public Assistance: Medi-Cal, CalFresh and General Relief services
    • Marin Housing Authority- confirm waitlist status, and assistance for current MHA voucher holders with questions regarding status, continuing eligibility, annual & interim recertifications and other program questions.
    • Marin Humane (11-12 only): Vaccinations, microchips, food, and supplies for dogs and cats
    • Marin Medical Reserve Corps: Hands only CPR training, naloxone (Narcan) and naloxone training
    • Massage and Massage with somatics, expressive arts, brief trauma therapy.
    • NA (Narcotics Anonymous): Narcotics Anonymous is a group of recovering addicts that meet regularly to help and support one another to stop using drugs and alcohol. We want to create a community so that an addict, any addict, can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use, and find a new way to live. Our message is of hope and the promise of freedom from active addiction.

    • Recovery Dharma Marin- Recovery Dharma is a peer-led movement that is unified by our trust in the potential of each of us to recover and find freedom from the suffering of addiction. We believe that the traditional Buddhist teachings, often referred to as the Dharma, offer a powerful approach to healing from addiction and living a life of true freedom.
