As part of that process, a specific Precise Plan is also being prepared for the Downtown area. A City Council appointed committee of 24 community members, representing a wide range of interest, met over the last two years and served as a  sounding board for the drafting of the plans.  In the next couple of months, the Draft General Plan 2040, Downtown Precise Plan and associated Environmental Impact Report (EIR) will be released for public review to allow for community review and comments on the draft plans and the Planning Commission will hold hearings on the matter. In advance of the release of the public review draft of these documents, a presentation will be made to the Planning Commission at their September 15th meeting to provide the Commission a recap of what has transpired to date, the outline and organization of the draft plans, a summary of the major policy recommendations that will be included in the draft plans and a general timeline/process for the upcoming review of the public review draft and adoption of the plans. They will not be reviewing the plans or policies, but just getting background and highlights and path for what to expect in their upcoming public review process.  You can watch the meeting live. A brief staff report will be available the Friday before the meeting.
