City Council adopted Resolution 14453 declaring its intention to transition from at-large elections to district-based elections for members of the City Council, effective for the November 2020 General Municipal Election.

1st Public Hearing: Consider composition of districts

City Council heard public testimony


February 20, 2018 (public meeting)

2nd Public Hearing: Consider composition of districts

City Council adopted Resolution 14468 approving the criteria to be used to guide the establishment of the districts.


February 26, 2018 (deadline)

Publication of draft maps and proposed elections sequence


March 5, 2018 (public meeting)

3rd Public Hearing: Consider draft maps and election sequence

City Council held Public Hearing and received comments.


March 12, 2018 (deadline)

Publication of any new or revised draft maps and/or proposed election sequences


March 12, 2018 (public meeting, from 6 to 8 p.m.)

Public meeting and City Council review of submitted draft maps and/or proposed election sequences

4th Public Hearing: Consider draft maps election sequence, and introduce ordinance establishing district elections

5th Public Hearing: Consider draft maps election sequence, and introduce ordinance establishing district elections
