Rafat Raie

Rafat is the Deputy Director of Public Works for the City of San Rafael. Throughout his 29 year career, Rafat participated in and led many innovative solutions to complex multi-modal transportation projects. He shares his experience through the University of California Berkeley Technology Transfer Program as a Part-time Instructor. After working in both the public and private sectors he comes to San Rafael from Walnut Creek where he served as the City Traffic Engineer.  He is named the 2015 “Professional of the Year” by the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
