September is recognized nationally as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, a time when mental health professionals, prevention organizations, survivors, allies, and communities unite to change the narrative about suicide in our community by promoting hope, fostering open dialogue, destigmatizing mental health issues, and celebrating the possibility of recovery.
The Mayor and City Council call upon the San Rafael community to raise awareness about mental health, promote equity in access to care, support individuals and families affected by suicide and suicidal ideation, and help create a culture of openness, support, and healing throughout our community.
This month, the Marin Behavioral Health & Recovery Services are joining with local community-based partners to host virtual and in-person events that aim to strengthen community healing and improve resource access.
