On Friday August 22, Aegis Senior Living San Rafael officially opened its doors, introducing 101 new studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom residences in the heart of downtown. The Mission-style building, which was designed to echo San Rafael’s historic architecture transforms a site that had been vacant for years.
When fully occupied, Aegis will welcome over 100 residents and employ approximately 200 staff members, adding new vitality to downtown San Rafael. Aegis will provide its older adult residents and their families a wellness center, theater, dining facilities, and shared gathering spaces. For the community, this project represents meaningful progress towards achieving the City’s housing goals, while also enriching the fabric of daily life in San Rafael.
Residents will be moving in starting September 2nd, with a Grand Opening scheduled for September 6th.
