Citizen of the Year
You've probably seen her face around town, perhaps on her bike or at a City Council meeting. It's no wonder Patty Garbarino was selected to receive the prestigious Richard P. O'Brien Citizen of the Year Award. Not only is Patty the President of Marin Sanitary Service, she is an active volunteer who has been a member of numerous boards and commissions. Everyone enjoys her wit and enthusiasm for whatever it is she is doing. She has a fun and engaging way of getting her message out to the community, like the time she passed out bags of compost at a City Council meeting. A committee made up of council members, planning commissioners and members of the O'Brien family made their selection from a pool of 15 candidates. Patty deserves this award for her many years of service to our community. She will be officially honored at the State of the City dinner on April 4th.
