Streets Sweeping

The Street Division sweeps an average of 120 curb miles each week. The Downtown area is swept three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Commercial areas are swept once every two weeks and sections of the Canal District are swept once a week. Residential routes are swept once every six weeks. Not all city streets can be swept. Narrow streets or streets that are very steep, have no curbs, or other areas that limit the sweeper's ability to turn around are not swept. These Streets are either not shown or have transparent street boundaries.

Equipment breakdowns and unplanned employee time off will affect the schedule. When disruptions occur Downtown and Commercial Routes will be suspended for the day. We will try our best to sweep residential areas on the scheduled day.

If you would like a printed version of the schedule for your area sent via US Mail, please contact Earl Boisclair, Corp Yard Dispatcher, at 415-485-3372. Any questions, comments or suggestions about this schedule can be sent to my email address at glenn.nunley@ci.san-rafael.ca.us
