Planned lane and/or road closures:
As part of the Caltrans 580/101 Connector Project
One westbound through lane at the intersection of Bellam Blvd and East Francisco Boulevard is required for work under the connector overcrossing.
Demolition of the median curbs on Bellam Boulevard between Kerner Boulevard and East Francisco Blvd will begin Monday 7/19. In order to work in the median, the contractor will have to close one of the eastbound lanes on Bellam Boulevard. The lane closure may occur during the day, night or both.
Once the Bellam median work is complete, the contractor will demolish the entire sidewalk on Bellam Boulevard between Kerner Blvd and East Francisco Boulevard. Pedestrians will be asked to use the southern side of Bellam Boulevard and canal neighborhood streets instead of the north sidewalk on Bellam Boulevard. The existing WB Bellam Boulevard Lane closure will be extended all the way down to Kerner Blvd so the contractor has room to work on the sidewalk. Finally, after the Bellam Boulevard sidewalk has been reconstructed, the contractor will move to FBE and use the same technique (demolish the entire length at once) to rebuild that sidewalk from Bellam Blvd to Vivian Way.
4th Street Utility UndergroundingStarting Wednesday August 25th, a contractor will be closing lanes on 4th Street near Ross Valley to underground various utility services. Lane closures will be between 9AM and 3PM, however lane closures may be as early as 7AM in the westbound direction only. Construction will start Wednesday August 25th and go through September 10th, 2010.
A portion of the work (asphalt paving) will be completed at night. Starting on 9/7/10 through 9/9/10 the contractor will be grinding and repaving the roadway starting at 10PM until 5AM. During this time, additional lane closures will be in place.
