CERT Basic

 

This is the entry level training course covering basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety & suppression, light search & rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood following/during a disaster.

Length: 21 hours. Classes meet every Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. for the duration of 7 weeks.
Capacity: minimum 18, maximum 27
Scheduling: Course is offered twice a year.
Cost: $100.00 for San Rafael residents.
         $110.00 for those employed in San Rafael.
         $120.00 for those not employed or residing in San Rafael.

Registration fee includes a student manual and a full CERT response kit including helmet, vest, utilities wrench, heavy duty flashlight, First Aid kit, face mask, whistle, heavy duty gloves, protective eye wear, light sticks, and emergency blanket.

September 14 – October 26
