Design Awards
Residents of the City of San Rafael have long stressed the importance of good architectural design for newly developed and redeveloped properties. The San Rafael City Council, Planning Commission and Design Review Board are also committed to providing quality architectural design. To recognize quality development projects, the City is seeking nominations from the community to recognize outstanding architectural design.
Nominations will be accepted for development that has been completed from 1999 to the present. Examples of qualifying projects could include: new commercial buildings, office buildings, custom homes, residential tracts, condominium developments, residential/commercial remodels, affordable housing, adaptive re-use of an existing building, and historic rehabilitation.
Nominations must be submitted on the attached nomination form. Additional nomination forms may be obtained at the City of San Rafael Planning Division at 1400 Fifth Avenue. Nominations must be submitted to the City of San Rafael Planning Division by November 17, 2006 (please note that the submittal deadline has been extended from October 31, 2006).
